The industry 4.0 came into existence with an amalgamation of all the previous innovations, starting from the machines for manufacturing and faster and easier production to inculcating a digital ecosystem digitalising everything, from shopping to chatting on the internet. All the previous stages form a solid background for the unbound automation and cloud technology. The wireless capabilities are possible today due to the cumulative enhancements over the period of time.

Industry 4.0 combines the efforts of man and machine to improve the efficiency of the production and enhance the supply chain with the help of automated supply chain and all the records being saved in a cloud system assimilated with a seamless flow between the employees for a timely communication with the help of E-Supply Chain Management System.

With the advent of Industry 4.0, a heavy level of online mass customisation was started by mining the information of people, in order to personalise the products or services according to their needs and desires.

The concept of Remote Working System bloomed during the COVID-19 era. Many companies offered their employees remote or hybrid mode of working which fared well with people and gave an opportunity to spend time with their families during lunch hours and saving the money on conveyance.

Industry 5.0 offers a sensory interaction with the computer system and accordingly the safer working environment for the workers and employees can be built, it helps in the curation of training programs depending upon the degree of efficiency of the worker.

Environmental Sustainability is a main concern these days considering the climate change which is a cause of the irresponsible behaviour by humans and it can be corrected through AI powered human and robot collaborations, which will help reduce waste and would also provide certain suggestions to the environmentalists to increase the sustainability of our environment. We will be able to compare these suggestion and accordingly choose the right suggestion and thereby, would make the strategy as per the requirement and the research done on the environment.

With the help of Digital Twin and various other simulation models which can be used for imparting a better education to the students. Digital twins can help students to grasp the concepts in a more practical expounding manner. Now what is Digital Twin? Digital Twin is basically a virtual representation of a physical object and its workings through the usage of different graphic styles and 3D modelling for better explanations of static images. For Example: You search on Google, “Heart”, it will show the whole working of it along with the depiction of moving blood through arteries.

Through integrated robots and various experimental features are being harnessed by the businesses in order to improve the ways of solving problem in quick and enhanced manner if condensed with humans. Though Industry 5.0, and 4.0 do provide the aforementioned features for the betterment of human race in terms of convenience, however it also has some drastic harmful impacts on humans as well.

Murkier Impacts of Industry 5.0, and 4.0

  • Industry 4.0 does make the life of marketers easier, though not the same case for consumers. Consumers get troubled by a constant permission dialog appearing everywhere and also get bothered by the cookie acceptance dialog in the bottom of any article or website, moreover they feel insecure online. An incessant feeling that someone is eavesdropping at them is always there.
  • Though remote working system has bought a lot of boon to the man kind, but the inability to meet people physically somehow constricts them in a monotone routine environment. Afterall we are social animals and we always have been.
  • Though inculcating a mixture of human sensory organs with AI (Artificial Intelligence) in Industry 5.0 is a great innovation in the field of technology and could also be convenient, however the constant indulgence of a human being invoked in the technology can lead to an addiction and dilapidation of health as well. The engaging UI/UX of online games and applications are already risking the human health and accentuating addiction in some form or the other as well.
  • Various shopping marts in the US are getting cashless with zero physical interaction, resulting in the deportation of cashiers from the billing counter. This has created a havoc for certain working professionals as well. The same could happen in India too if we implement the same here.
Based on all the points mentioned above, I would like to conclude that though technology has given us a hassle-free working system as compared to earlier times. There are still some major concerns as well which needs to be solved before completely implementing the technology. For Example, we should re-skill the employees for whom we think that their post won't be existing due to AI and advance applications of software. Only implanting technology based strategy won't suffice, we will have to be prudent of everything which the new technology could hamper and accordingly make this paradigm shift possible.
